Blue topaz at Mohs 8 is highly durable — the most resistant to daily wear of all the Evenstar centre stone options. The one characteristic to be aware of is its perfect cleavage plane: a sharp direct impact at the right angle could crack the stone. Under normal wearing conditions at this scale this is not a realistic concern.
Soft-bristled toothbrush with warm water and mild dish soap — work gently through the Art Nouveau detail and behind the topaz claw setting. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. The most effective method for both silver and blue topaz.
Despite Mohs 8 hardness, blue topaz has a perfect cleavage. Avoid direct hard knocks against the stone specifically. Store separately from other jewellery that could strike the pendant. Under normal wearing at this scale, no special precautions are needed for everyday activities.
